This past Sunday marked the 43rd annual Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, a solemn tribute to peace officers based in Nova Scotia who have died in the line of duty. The service serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness and dedication of those who lost their lives while serving others.

Before the service, a procession of peace officers, first responders, civilian employees, military personnel, and volunteers took place from Police Headquarters on Gottingen Street to Grand Parade. Following this, participants from across the province convened at the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Monument for a brief ceremony, where dignitaries offered remarks and laid wreaths in conjunction with peace officers and family members commemorating those who have given their lives.

On Sunday, October 19th, the ceremony began at 1 p.m. At 12:45 p.m., peace officers, first responders, civilian employees, military personnel, and volunteers marched from Police Headquarters on Gottingen Street to Grand Parade. The ceremony was held at the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Monument, situated outside City Hall at Grand Parade.
